Having the other Mrs. Robinson to stay for a few nights last week was an absolute blessing as she is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to gardening. 

She shared a few tips on preparing the soil for planting without spending a fortune on expensive fertilizers.

– Sheep and horse poo is the best! (We did splash out on some sheep pellets at Mitre 10, but scooped up some horse poo in a bucket down at the beach)

– Your plants love kelp! If you are lucky enough to live near a beach like we do, take a bucket or two and the dog and make a trip of it.

For your portable herb garden you will need:
