Unexpected love


Roughly a week ago I was in B&Q buying random bits for DIY when I couldn’t resist buying a couple of heavily reduced rose bushes. Partly because I can never resist a bargain, but that’s a whole other issue, but also because I have recently cleared my garden of a rainforest of weeds and now need to plant stuff that is basically going to survive my complete lack of any gardening knowledge whatsoever. So I thought at the price, even if they failed to live, it would be no great loss.

Just over a week later, the most enormous rose has flowered on the thinnest of stems that looks like it can barely support the flower.
